Theresa Dix
Chief Executive Officer
Theresa H. Dix, MSN, RN, CPPS, brings more than 43 years of healthcare experience to her role as Chief Executive Officer of Wythe County Community Hospital. Throughout her career, she has been committed to improving patient care, supporting healthcare teams, and creating safer experiences for patients and their families.
Theresa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from King College in Bristol, Virginia, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and again graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016.
Over the years, Theresa has built a career centered on quality, safety, and service. She is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and maintains her Multi-State Privilege Nursing License.
Today, Theresa leads Wythe County Community Hospital with a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and community-focused care. She believes strong hospitals are built through collaboration, accountability, and a shared dedication to improving the health and well-being of the communities they serve.
Zane Perkins
Director of Physician Services
For more than 25 years, Zane Perkins has worked at the intersection of healthcare leadership, business development, and strategic growth, helping connect communities with the care and services they need.
A graduate of the University of Virginia's College at Wise, Zane earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree with a concentration in Business Administration. He began his career in healthcare sales and marketing, ultimately serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he gained extensive experience in healthcare operations, strategic planning, regulatory oversight, and organizational growth.
Since joining Wythe Physician Practices and Wythe County Community Hospital more than 12 years ago, Zane has helped lead efforts to strengthen local healthcare services through provider recruitment, practice development, service line expansion, and community partnerships. His work has focused on bringing resources, providers, and healthcare opportunities closer to the patients and families who depend on them.
Known for his commitment to community-focused healthcare, Zane is passionate about building sustainable healthcare services that support both patients and providers. He believes strong healthcare systems are created by understanding local needs, investing in long-term growth, and ensuring access to high-quality care for future generations.
Rachel Nelson
People Services Director
Rachel is an accomplished Human Resources Director with five years of progressive experience in the healthcare setting. She leads HR operations with a strong focus on employee relations and engagement, playing a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. With a strong commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, Nelson strives to align HR initiatives with WCCH’s mission of making communities healthier.
A Southwest Virginia native, Nelson and holds a strong commitment to serving the area she was raised in and still resides. Nelson is currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration, demonstrating her commitment to continuous professional growth and leadership excellence in the dynamic healthcare environment.
