WYTHEVILLE, VA- JULY 8, 2026 - Wythe Physician Practices is proud to recognize Tessa Chaney for earning recognition through the Virginia Mental Health Access Program (VMAP), a statewide initiative dedicated to improving access to mental and behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, young adults, and pregnant and postpartum patients.

By completing a VMAP educational pathway and earning a VMAP Recognition Badge, Tessa Chaney has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening her knowledge and skills in pediatric mental health care. The recognition highlights her dedication to providing compassionate, evidence-based care and supporting the overall well-being of patients and families in our community.

VMAP is a state- and federally funded program available at no cost to Virginia providers. Through education, consultation, and care navigation resources, VMAP helps healthcare professionals identify, manage, and treat mental health concerns while connecting patients and families with appropriate support services.

Mental health plays a critical role in overall health, and access to knowledgeable, well-trained providers can make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families. By participating in programs such as VMAP, providers gain valuable tools and resources that enhance the care they deliver every day.

“Recognition through VMAP reflects a provider’s dedication to continued learning and excellence in patient care,” said Wythe Physician Practices Service Director, Zane Perkins. “We are proud of Tessa’s achievement and her ongoing commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of our community.”

Please join us in congratulating Tessa Chaney on this accomplishment and in thanking her for her commitment to advancing mental health care for the patients and families we serve.
